Alicia Roeder, LMHC, LPC, LIMHP
Welcome!
About Me
Hi there, I’m Alicia Roeder – a dedicated, compassionate, and heart-centered therapist committed to walking alongside you on your journey toward healing, growth, and self-discovery.
I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner (LIMHP), serving clients in Iowa, Illinois, South Carolina, Nebraska, and Texas. I hold the Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) credential through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP), and I’m proud to be an active member of both the Nebraska Eating Disorder Network (NEDN) and the Eating Disorder Coalition of Iowa (EDCI). Additionally, I am a Certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, passionate about helping people heal their relationship with food, their bodies, and themselves.
At the core of my work is a belief in the inherent worth of every person. As a Health at Every Size® (HAES®) practitioner, I am committed to creating a safe, inclusive, and affirming space for people of all sizes, backgrounds, and identities. My approach is LGBTQIA+ affirming, fat-positive, and rooted in respect, empathy, and deep care for each individual’s unique journey.
My own healing journey began as a teenager, navigating anxiety and an eating disorder with the support of a therapist who saw me, believed in me, and held space for my transformation. That experience changed my life and inspired me to dedicate my career to helping others find hope and healing, too.
Since beginning my professional journey in 2009 as a Social Work intern at Nebraska Medicine, I have devoted my career to supporting mental health and well-being. In 2021, I followed my heart and opened my private practice, allowing me to focus more deeply on the areas that matter most to me: eating disorder recovery, body image, self-compassion, and emotional resilience.
Outside the therapy room, I’m a mom to two wonderful sons and share my home with a joyful group of pets, two pugs, a German shepherd mix, and two cats who keep life lively. Music is one of my great joys, and I love discovering new songs and artists, so if you have a favorite, I’d love to hear about it during our time together.
Therapy, to me, is not just about addressing challenges, it’s about connection, empowerment, and growth. I believe in the power of collaborative healing, where we explore your story, honor your strengths, and move toward the life you deserve, with compassion at the center of it all.
I’m truly honored to support you, and I look forward to the opportunity to walk with you on your path.
Warmly,
Alicia R.
