Alicia Roeder, LMHC, LPC, LIMHP

Welcome!

Hello! I'm Alicia Roeder, a compassionate and supportive LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Counselor), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and a LIMHP (Licensed Independent Mental Health Practitioner) practicing in Iowa, Illinois, and Nebraska. I am a member of IAEDP (International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals), and am in the process of earning my CEDS (Certified Eating Disorder Specialist) certification. As a dedicated member of the Board at the Eating Disorder Coalition of Iowa, a Member at Large for Nebraska Eating Disorders Network, and a certified Intuitive Eating Counselor, my focus is on helping individuals become the best version of themselves.

One of my fundamental principles as a therapist is being a Health at Every Size (HAES) practitioner. This means that I create a supportive and respectful environment for all individuals, valuing and providing the best care regardless of body size. My approach is inclusive, LGBTQIA affirming, and fat-positive, striving to make everyone feel comfortable and respected in their own skin while working with me.

My journey in therapy began during my teenage years when I faced my own struggles with mood and an eating disorder. Fortunately, I had the privilege of working with a wonderful and impactful therapist who supported me during my most challenging times. This experience left a lasting impression on me, motivating me to help others in the same transformative way.

My professional career officially commenced in 2009 as a Social Work intern at Nebraska Medicine. Throughout the years, I have remained committed to the mental health field, gaining extensive experience in child welfare work. In 2021, I took the step to establish my own practice to focus on areas that deeply resonate with my passions.

In my personal life, I cherish spending time with my family, including my two sons. My home is filled with love from my two pugs, a German shepherd mix, and two cats, who are cherished members of the family. Additionally, I find solace and joy in music, especially rock and metal, and love when clients share their favorite music recommendations with me.

I am genuinely excited about the opportunity to work with you and provide the support you need on your journey towards healing and personal growth. Together, we will explore your unique experiences and challenges, fostering a nurturing therapeutic relationship where you feel understood and valued.

Please don't hesitate to reach out, and I am here to support you every step of the way. Let's work together to create positive change in your life.

I am looking forward to working with you!
